Project Description

Overview

Uruguay is the homeland of many world-famous artists, writers, architects, and athletes, all known for their contributions to Latin American’s arts and culture. Lately a new artistic scene and a series of arts festivals have emerged in Uruguay, particularly in José Ignacio where a number of artists were inspired to live and create. In keeping with this emerging trend philanthropist, engineer, and musician Rodolfo Klenik recognized the need for a world-class recording studio to serve local and global artists attracted to Uruguay’s inspirational climate and welcoming creative community. Aware of WSDG’s global reputation for award-winning recording studio design, Klenik reached out to WSDG Miami to invite them to collaborate on Faro House, a high-end “Destination Recording Studio” to be built within his newly acquired private home, which will be shared with a unique Yoga Studio.

Program

Rodolfo Klenik was committed to providing his clients with a “World Class” recording environment, and that meant state-of-the-art technology as well as an impressive assemblage of vintage gear and outstanding instruments, including an extraordinary Yamaha C5X Silent Grand Piano, imported from England, and a carefully curated collection of vintage instruments. To further support his plan, Klenik requested an immersive Dolby Atmos system with Neumann speakers to guarantee his clients the ultimate spatial sound experience with consummate depth, clarity, and details.

Design

Klenik’s spacious, recently constructed home provided WSDG with the nucleus for precisely the “showcase” studio Klenik envisioned. Faro House features a 670 SF Live Room comfortable enough for eight musicians, which was critical as the space is also envisioned as a live rehearsing and live recording space. With high ceilings, oak floors, two large “picture” windows and an inspirational view Faro House is already hosting outstanding live recording sessions and is equally calculated to provide an attractive backdrop for video performances. The spacious 366 SF Control Room is outfitted with ATC SCM110 ASL Pro Loudspeakers and 2 x 18” subwoofers for main monitoring designed to provide engineers and producers with extraordinary acoustic quality. Elegant, comfortable, and welcoming to artists, producers and guest engineers, Faro House represents the epitome of gracious recording and performing professionalism.
