Project Description
Overview
Violet Isle is the brainchild of studio owner Bill Jabr and the legendary Blue Room Studios team in Atlanta, Ga. In the past decade, Blue Room has been home to over 200 million records sold, multiple chart topping hits, Grammys, and Diamond records. In 2025 alone, Blue Room contributed to 3 Billboard number one albums and multiple Billboard number 1 singles. The Blue Room team also expanded their presence in Los Angeles by revitalizing and reimagining the iconic Lion Share Studios. Living up to the rich legacy of Lion Share would be huge shoes to fill, but in less than two years of relaunching Lion Share, the team has already hosted some of the most exciting artists of today’s music scene including Frank Ocean, Andre 3000, Anderson Paak, Leon Thomas, and Playboi Carti among others. Violet Isle is the newest studio from Jabr and his team and is the culmination of all past experiences and influence into one space. It is a true world-class facility accommodating artists that desire maximum privacy in a full service large format recording space.
Program
The WSDG team was tasked with master planning for the future 3 room studio facility and a full studio design for the Studio A suite. This includes control room, live room, Iso Booth design, acoustic isolation and optimization, A/V infrastructure design, and collaboration with interior design.
Design
Built in a former t-shirt printing press centrally located in midtown Atlanta, Violet Isle is a private gated recording studio featuring sweeping views of the growing Atlanta skyline, a unique open floor plan style studio layout, and several connecting glass views between the rooms and outside. Violet Isle was designed with careful attention to ergonomics and work flow- keeping service, hospitality, and privacy at the forefront with multiple support spaces around one premier acoustic space. These supporting spaces include two private lounges and an in suite full restroom and kitchenette. The studio suite features a thoughtful selection of vintage and modern outboard gear and microphones, custom main Augspurger-style monitors, a 2003 Yamaha C7 grand, a vintage SSL 4056G console, beautifully designed curved clouds and soffits conveying a sense of movement, and a large live room and separate isolation room capable of hosting a wide variety of projects across all genres.
