Project Description

Overview

Global Relay is a leading provider of fully compliant, cloud electronic communications archiving, messaging, supervision, and eDiscovery solutions for the global financial sector and other highly regulated industries. Founded in 1999, the company services over 20,000 customers worldwide including 22 of the top 25 banks. Located in the heart of Manhattan, the Global Relay HQ is a recently renovated high-end office complex and media production facility located at the top of a modern high rise building that serves as the company’s center of operations.

Program

WSDG served as A/V designer and construction supervisors for this project. This included the design and implementation of Global Relay’s onsite TV studio and auditorium as well as the creation of the entire complex’s distributed A/V systems. The WSDG team worked closely with architects Switzer Group, construction company JRM, and AV installers Diversified.

Design

Spread out over five stories, the Global Relay HQ is a high-end modern office facility with a mixture of open-plan desks, huddle and conference rooms, and larger meeting and production spaces. WSDG designed a comprehensive, distributed A/V system with a best-in-class communication network that includes cameras, televisions, phones, and teleconferencing technology in every meeting space and huddle room. Each of these spaces was modeled down to the finest detail with every piece of technology specified at the highest level.

The WSDG team also designed A/V for the facility’s onsite TV studio including its studio lighting infrastructure and specifications for robotic cameras, cranes, and A/V systems. The studio is served by an adjacent control room that can operate the cameras remotely and be responsible for all production tasks. WSDG also conducted electroacoustic analysis and specified the A/V systems and automated video equipment for the HQ’s Auditorium and spec’d its signature 20×6 foot main LED screen.
