Project Description

Overview

In a dynamic collaboration, WSDG and Maxicon joined forces to craft an exquisite luxury residence in South Florida, featuring a cutting-edge Home Theater. This $8+ million bespoke home has earned prestigious accolades: the 2023 CEDIA Life Lived Best at Home Americas and Technology Meets Design Americas.

Program

Initiating from a blank canvas, WSDG Partner/Art Director, Silvia Molho engaged with clients to discern their unique audio-visual preferences. Her objective was to curate an ambiance tailored to enhance their refined lifestyle. Collaborative sessions with the Urban Group, architectural and construction firm, were pivotal in optimizing spatial design and coordinating the intricate wiring network for this all-encompassing residence. Beyond the lavish 25-seat home theater, Ms. Molho recommended a suite of turnkey, state-of-the-art systems, including centralized audio and video capabilities and electronic lighting, and window shading treatments. The entire residence was acoustically tuned to deliver an unparalleled auditory experience.

Design

WSDG’s design team, seamlessly integrated acoustic and technical elements into the year-long design and build program. The Harmonia Home Theater boasts a 150” Widescreen multi-aspect ratio Seymour Screen Excellence–TAM4-150, JBL Synthesis-9.4.6 speakers, Lutron HomeWorks QSX lighting installations, and a comprehensive entertainment suite, featuring Apple TV, Roku, Cable TV, Blu Ray, Kaleidescape 1080, Kaleidescape 4K, and over 100 TB of movie storage. The system is tied together with Audioquest Cables and Dolby Atmos Surround Sound. A Savant System Integration was implemented to automate everything from lighting to music and video feeds across every room, ensuring uninterrupted functionality in the event of a power outage. The Home Theater is furnished with 21 Elite Home Theater “Power Seats” and offers a spectrum of color lighting options, adjustable to any mood or aesthetic preference. WSDG’s technical team has mastered the art of “invisible acoustics” installations, seamlessly blending technology into the background. Lighting, once overlooked, now plays a pivotal role in WSDG’s design toolkit, offering not only aesthetic enhancements but also contributing to safety and comfort. The pièce de résistance is a unique ‘custom ceiling cloud’ serving as both a lighting fixture and an enclosure for the ceiling-mounted projector, epitomizing ‘The ultimate viewing experience.
