Project Description

Overview

The Berlin House of Representatives is the seat of the state parliament of Berlin. It is located in the building of the former Prussian Landtag in the Mitte district of the city. The building underwent renovations in the mid-2000s which included extensive work on its audio and video capabilities.

Program

The WSDG design team was tasked with electroacoustics and A/V system design which included everything from the preliminary planning to the supervision of the installation and final tuning.

Design

The sound and video distribution systems were updated for a fully digital workflow which includes a new loudspeaker system that can be precisely controlled within the plenary hall of the building from a control area on the side of the hall. For the display of the agenda and, if necessary, further image contents, two large-screen plasma displays were inserted to the right and left of the presidium; the presidium itself can also follow the written content via a screen tape over the visitor’s gallery.
