Dr. Peter D’Antonio

Dr. Peter D’Antonio is a pioneer in the sound diffusion industry and has made significant contributions to the field of architectural acoustics for more than 40 years. Alongside a long career as a diffraction physics researcher at the Naval Research Lab in Washington, DC, Peter also has maintained a concurrent career in the music industry as the founder of RPG Diffusor Systems, Inc and more recently co-founder of REDiacoustics.

He has lectured extensively, published numerous scientific articles in peer review technical journals, acoustical and architectural magazines and is the co-author of the reference textbook Acoustic Absorbers and Diffusers: Theory, Design and Application, 3rdEdition published by CRC Press (August 2016). He has also contributed several chapters to the Master Handbook of Acoustics, 6thEdition published by McGraw Hill Professional 2015 and a book that reflects the life, work, and legacy of one of the greatest acousticians of the 20th century entitled Acoustics, Information, and Communication: Memorial Volume in Honor of Manfred R. Schroeder, published by Springer (2015). He was inducted into the AES’ TECnology Hall of Fame in 2012 and awarded the Wallace Clement Sabine Medal in 2023.
