WSDG Booth Talks | Interview with Peter D’Antonio | AES 2024

Renowned acoustician, fellow of both the Acoustical Society of America and the Audio Engineering Society, and a 2012 Inductee into the music industry’s TECnology Hall of Fame, Dr. Peter D’Antonio, Director of Research for REDI Acoustics, sat down for a chat with REDI Acoustics’ Partner and Director, PK Pandey, at the Audio Engineering Society’s annual show on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. The 30-minute interview took place in WSDG’s booth at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City.

Dr D’Antonio introduced REDI Acoustics’ new software, “ROCS” designed to optimize the room acoustics of simple, rectangular critical listening spaces. The software leverages AI and iterative programming to analyze the room’s geometry, speaker placement, and listener position, suggesting specific acoustical treatments to improve sound quality.

ROCS is presented as a user-friendly tool that simplifies room optimization, providing users with data-driven insights to guide their decisions instead of relying solely on intuition or previous experience. The software also incorporates a treatment calculator that helps users design their own acoustical treatments, providing a comprehensive platform for optimizing room acoustics.
