Project Description
Overview
Stevens Institute of Technology is a private research facility located in Hoboken, New Jersey. Founded in 1870 it is one of the oldest technology universities in the United States and comprises four schools that deliver technology-based STEM degrees as well as programs in business, arts, and the humanities. The 55-acre campus supports over 8,000 undergraduate and graduate students. WSDG is currently designing an educational recording studio with architects Perkins Eastman that will be situated on the third floor of the campus’s Kidde Hall.
Program
The WSDG Design Team was tasked with designing a multi-room recording studio within the existing building. The scope of work is a full studio design package that includes interior room acoustics, isolation, systems design, and studio design. The control room will feature immersive playback, with a series of fully connected and integrated iso booths, practice and rehearsal rooms. The studio will enhance the current teaching recording labs already in place.
