NASHVILLE – June 28, 2018 – Earlier today at Summer NAMM, pro audio professionals and leading industry brands gathered to recognize and celebrate the announcement of the 34th annual NAMM TEC Award nominees at a special pro audio reception held in the Music City Center.
The nominees of the 23 Technical Achievement and eight Creative Achievement categories were evaluated by a group of industry experts from all facets of the pro audio and sound production industries. Final nominees are those products and projects that, in the opinion of the nominating panel, represent superior accomplishment in their respective fields. The announcement of Nominees to correspond with Summer NAMM marks a shift from the historical timeframe of September. The announcement cycle has been accelerated to provide more time to celebrate the innovation and achievements of the more than 100 Nominees.
Presented annually during The NAMM Show by the NAMM Foundation, TEC Awards recognize the individuals, companies and technical innovations behind the sound of recordings, live performances, films, television, video games and multi-media. At the ceremony, the Les Paul Innovation Award, honoring musical artists whose work has exemplified the creative application of audio technology, and the Hall of Fame Award, recognizing audio masters and engineers, are both awarded.
The voting period will commence on November 14 and continue through December 31, 2018. Additional information on the voting period and eligibility will be announced in November.
The TEC Awards will return to The 2019 NAMM Show on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Hilton Anaheim Pacific ballroom. Nominees, their colleagues and friends are invited to attend a networking happy hour, dinner, great entertainment and the chance to be a TEC Awards winner. Ticket sales for the annual event will open in September.
