Project Description
Overview
Shenzen Universiade Sports Center is a multi-use sport facilities complex in Longang, China. The complex consists of three main sports venues, a 60,000 seat stadium, a multi-purpose 18,000 seat arena, and venue specifically for swimming events. The project was a collaboration with gmp International Architects and was completed in 2011.
Program
The WSDG design team was tasked with room acoustics conception, design, and consulting, and electroacoustics conception and design.
Design
WSDG’s most significant contributions were the acoustic concepts for the triangular crystalline roof structures of the stadiums. The team also submitted a design concept for the sound reinforcement systems of the facilities.
