Hotel Dylan

Overview

The Hotel Dylan is a scenic boutique hotel located in Woodstock, New York. Beautifully nestled at the base of Overlook Mountain, the hotel provides guests with instant access to one of America’s most iconic small towns with ample rock n’ roll heritage and bohemian panache to make it a memorable stay. Each of the hotel’s rooms is named after one of the rock n’ roll greats associated with Woodstock’s musical heritage and decorated accordingly.

Program

The WSDG team consulted on acoustic isolation for the entire facility as well as an 11-room expansion that was added to the original building.

Design

WSDG established acoustic isolation criteria for the entire hotel that would allow for a comfortable amount of privacy for all patrons. This criteria was designed to hit a ‘Luxury Rating’ as laid out by HUD Guidelines. After initial acoustic measurements were made, WSDG gave design notes on various aspects of the building including recommendations on HVAC installation, door, window, and wall decoupling, ideal carpet specifications, and other careful details that contribute towards the desired effect. The end result is an incredibly restful acoustic environment across the entire facility.
