Abstract: The Democratization of The Recording Machine – By John Storyk, co-principal WSDG
That the Project Studio Revolution has empowered artists, engineers and producers is an uncontested fact. But headphones and ear buds aside, the rooms these laptop wizards are piloting still need to maximize their acoustic integrity. Unlimited in-the-box creative freedom must be tempered by an aural responsibility to both clients and the audience. There exist today a dizzying array of options for treating and tuning rooms. Whatever their size, whatever their musical mission, Project Studio environments can be acoustically optimized. Aesthetically too, if vibe is an issue. This panel/presentation will investigate the space the Project Studio occupies — whether budget is a primary concern or completely irrelevant, you’ll leave this session with concrete ideas on how capitalize your creative crib.
