Project Description
Overview
The Olympia Stadium of Berlin with 74,000 seats was extensively renovated in 2004 in preparation for the Football World Cup 2006, the pitch lowered and provided with a double-sided membrane roof.
Whereas the first concept initially featured decentralized high-performance loudspeakers along the roof catwalk, a solution with line arrays suspended to the roof was preferred in the further course of the project, which not only gave rise a uniform sound field distribution on the stadium grandstands, but also limited noise emissions from the stadium. Extensive simulation calculations using the computer model were the core of work of ADA.
