Project Description

Overview

The Deutsches Theater München (German Theatre of Munich) is Germany’s largest performance theater, staging musicals, operas, carnival balls, and other large parties. Starting in 2007, the theater went through a series of upgrades and renovations to its stage, orchestra pit, and seating. A major part of these renovations included an overhaul of the venue’s sound and video infrastructure.

Program

The WSDG design team was tasked with electroacoustics and A/V system design which included everything from the preliminary planning to the supervision of the installation and final tuning.

Design

A sound studio was installed in the upper levels of the theater. The rear hall area was equipped with a  brand-new sound control room with digital workflows for all of the theater’s sound and video equipment. In addition to these efforts, the loudspeaker systems were renewed and the preexisting cable network throughout the building was completely replaced.
