Beat No. 1 is a professional recording studio located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Owner Daniel Colombres is a top drummer in the Argentine music world.

Program

The design consists of a professional recording studio with two separate recording rooms that are used as rehearsal spaces for Daniel Colombres. The project was designed on the basis of remodeling the long structured 1950's house. The opened yard was recycled and converted into a green garden/living room. The existing rooms were used to make the acoustic areas.

Acoustics

The control room was designed for 5.1 mixing. At the client’s request, the rooms are very colorful and ideal for the recording of jazz and rock n´roll. With this purpose, diffusers and Helmholtz type resonators were placed in walls and ceilings. Daniel’s rehearsal/recording room is equipped with a system of variable acoustics in its walls.
