Residential A/V and Home Theaters

WSDG has always been on the front end of home theater design. Once a luxury for only the well-heeled, home theaters are now often a key consideration as homeowners renovate and build out new spaces.

Featured Projects:

Adverse, Belo Horizonte, Brazil

Taking on a different approach, the idea for this home theater was to incorporate a space to watch movies alongside the other living areas. To accomplish this, large sliding doors were placed to form walls that surround the 470 sq. ft. room.

Bernardo Paz, Brumadinho, Brazil

The 2200 sq. ft. living room was chosen for this home theater presented no sound isolation issue thanks the secluded house location. Design solutions include covering the ceiling with acoustically transparent fabric to conceal a broadband absorption system.

Alan May, Dallas, TX

Planned as a dedicated music Listening Room, family “suggestions” upgraded the project to a luxurious home theater. Room-within-room & floating floor isolation enables May to crank up the volume in his acoustically ideal environment without disturbing neighbors.

Casa FOA 2010, Buenos Aires

A place for designers and architects, Casa FOA is Argentina’s primary interior design exhibition. For 2010, WSDG developed the “ultimate home theatre.” Wall and ceiling acoustic elements were harmonized by lighting artifacts created with natural fibers.

Casa Cor 2009, Belo Horizonte, Brazil

Casa Cor is Brazil’s most respected interior design show. WSDG created a superb acoustical environment for the 2009 Home Theater, which achieved reverberation levels and frequency response equalivant to those of a pro audio production studio.

Eduardo Guimarăes, Belo Horizonte, Brazil

A 500 square foot home theater built in the existing basement of the Guimarăes residence, featuring eight full-size executive seats and a controllable light system.
